Coupled with the fact that his girlfriend ambushes them in the parking lot and Tyler is introducing his boyfriend to his family for the first time – this whole weekend is bound to be a hot mess.Now this is a novella, which means that you have to jump right in and you have to be ready to understand that you are not going to get pages of backstory to make you feel the connection these two have as friends, you have to just trust what the author tells you is already there.I personally love these sorts of books, I don’t always need to know every detail of a relationship to enjoy the read and although I typically am not a fan of “I’m with someone, but I want you†stories, I think the way the significant others were showcased, made me feel pretty okay with it all.The hot and steamy didn’t happen until the very end, and I would honestly love to see this story told in all its glory from those college days to present day, but that’s not what I got. I was still very happy with this story the way it was told – but if Ella EVER wants to give us a longer version, I’m all over that.
Ella, you never seize to amaze me!! That was a whole lot of hotness in one small book!! You grabbed me from the start and I couldn't put it down. It was like foreplay. It kept building and building, until you couldn't stand it any longer. These men were sexy and fun. They reminded me so much of Tate and Logan!!! You can definitely write more on these two hotties for us to enjoy!!! Thank you so much for this little gem! You, as always, rock Ms Ella!!!

I LOVE her M/M books (and the few M/F books I've read as well).**SPOILER AHEAD**I am NOT a fan of cheating. Tyler & Connor are each in a relationship when the story begins and while they don't get physical with each other until after they end the relationships, they DO kiss. While I HATED Tyler's boyfriend, Ryan, I really liked Connor's girlfriend, Miranda and hated to see her get hurt. The outcome was wonderful though. Awww, I absolutely loved this short story.Though not a short story as such, but an easy, quick read.Totally, totally worth the price for this little tale.I love the "friends to more" trope.I love the road trip theme and one of my favorite tropes in mm romance is gfy or straight to gay.This book has everything I love in a quick mm story.A short road trip with two friends who suddenly begin to feel an unexpected tension in the air.The pacing here is so cleverly done, by this author, and it takes almost the entire book to get to the crux of the problem.However, I felt nowhere was the story stagnating or dragging.This was just a beautiful story in every way that I love. (and I hope you will too)!Aaand some pretty hot stuff toward the end is really, really worth the wait. This was definitely unexpected. It left me longing for more. Connor went through so much emotionally and I think he did pretty well. Everything he did, he did to make sure Tyler was happy even if it caused some tension between them. He was such a good friend.Tyler was a bit of a diva, but his care for Connor was so open. He didn't hide how much he cared for him. His happiness meant the world to him. I loved watching their friendship progress to more. Ella did not disappoint in this story. Great for a happy, quick read!
Cute story with very few, minor editing mistakes. But even though little inklings were dropped throughout the story, like Connor always calling Tyler "babe" (which how come no one questioned if he was straight?) and always being "touchy feely" with him, it still did not ring true for Tyler to make 1 singular, sexual-related statement (which he said he'd done before) and all of a sudden Connor can't stop fantasizing about him. It was about 6 pm when the comment was made by Tyler, and before the next morning they were in bed and planning a life together. Connor had worked out all his confusion, misgivings, and any possible issues with gay sex by midnight. OK, sure. Not to mention Tyler had just broken up with his boyfriend about 3-4 hours prior to them sleeping together.To agree with another reviewer, this would have been so much better had it been full length. There is no character development whatsoever, and the whole plot revolved around Connor falling for Tyler in less than 24 hours. To disagree with another reviewer, there actually is a cliffhanger: the story ended right after they were intimate. We have no idea how soon they told either of their families, how they explained how things had changed so fast when they'd just arrived the day before with their respective significant others, and if/how things worked out between them.
A short friends to lovers HEA m/m romance.Ella Frank has captured so much feeling in this novella, really loved how I was able to get a complete story with this one.(Although, I'd be happy to see these two make a comeback down the road!)Tyler and Connor's story was just what I needed, a total feel-good read!
